You don’t need to have all of the answers. I don’t know how to get there is actually fine as a response.
As leaders, though, we think that isn’t an option. We think we need to know exactly the way there.
But the reality is we won’t - not all the time anyway, and certainly not when it comes to big ticket changes that we’re putting in play.
Why are some people ready to get up on a platform (physical or digital) and share their message with the world? Why are some people not?
Why is it that some folks can overcome the (inevitable) self-doubt that tends to accompany these acts of leadership? Why is it that others cannot?

In today's episode, I discuss the importance of surrounding yourself with people who believe in you. As much as you need to believe in yourself, it's as important to have an open, welcoming, encouraging environment for us to flourish.
When one side is dominant, we tend to think they’ll always be dominant.
Especially when their dominance is all encompassing - more market share, more money, more resources, more access, more everything. They develop an aura of invincibility. Their people sense it, they exude it, they act it.
Values are important. Values are sacrosanct. Values define who we are.
We all stand for - become known for - a specific set of values, whether we've expressly considered this or not.
Think. Plan. Commit. Work hard. Assess. Evaluate. Redirect.
We're taught that if we want to achieve success, those are the essential steps we need to follow. That if are to be successful, we must be methodical, diligent and direct. That it's all down to us.
The curate (clergy who are assistants to a parish priest) is eating breakfast at his bishop's house.
